Environment

Return to Environmental Health

We need to focus more attention on protecting our environmental resources. The environment is no longer a priority in our decisions on growth and development.

Boulder, once renowned for its environmental leadership, has allowed our own back yard to deteriorate to a condition that is at odds with our lofty environmental aspirations.

We are being overwhelmed by noise, claustrophobic public spaces and treeless urban landscapes.

Our world famous Open Space is being loved to death by recreational use that damages the natural ecosystems that we must preserve. And we will now see an increase in impact of recreational overuse thanks to a recent council vote to allow motorized bicycles on our trails.

We should be leaders - not followers - on environmental issues

“Put the environment first. We only have one planet.”

“What has happened to Boulder Creek on this current Council’s watch?”
